About Pastor dr. Dorothy Borders

Dr. Dorothy J. Borders journey of faith began early, shaped by the Spirit-filled home of her grandmother, Bertha Nathaniel-Bell, who held weekly Bible studies in her living room. It was in those gatherings that a young Dorothy first felt the call to serve the Lord.

Her educational and professional journey has been just as diverse as it is inspiring. Dr. Borders worked as a paralegal, then became a police officer. She later served as a bus operator for the Chicago Transit Authority, where she rose to become a line instructor and trainer, serving over 20 years with excellence.

Her call to ministry was affirmed when she was licensed to preach by Bishop Simon Gordon at Triedstone Full Gospel Baptist Church, and her dedication to spiritual growth took her across the globe, traveling with Triedstone to Israel, Egypt, and Greece to study the Bible and Torah firsthand. In 2011, she earned her Bachelor’s in Communication Studies from DePaul University. She was later ordained as a Minister by the late Chief Apostle Dr. Yvonne Lee Wilson of Body of Christ Deliverance Ministries and Outreach Training Center. Together, she and Apostle Wilson co-led B.A.A.D. Girls, a powerful women’s ministry where “Born Again And Delivered” women from all walks of life could gather, tell their stories, and be heard with compassion in a nontraditional, safe space.

To this day, Dr. Borders remains an Emeritus and active part of that ministry. Continuing her pursuit of spiritual education and leadership, Dr. Borders earned her Master of Christian Education in 2024 and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 2023 through Fresh Anointing International Ministry Bible College and Seminary (under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Heidi Ellis and Bishop Dr. Christopher Ellis). She is the proud mother of one child. Outside of ministry, she loves to travel, having explored four of the seven continents (Africa, Europe, North and South America) and over 20 countries. Her life is a powerful blend of faith, service, wisdom, and grace.
